I am tired. After a crazy few days this is the first opportunity I have had to just sit and think. And write. Chris and I went to Vegas on Thursday. We left about 6 am. Stopped at Peggy Sue's Diner for breakfast. If you haven't been there (it's in the middle of nowhere - Barstow, I think) you are not missing a lot. Although Huell Howser would probably be appalled at my saying that! We hit Vegas about 11:30. We stayed at the Signature MGM which is new and beautiful. It's a resort off the strip. Very tasteful and upscale. And quiet! We spent some time at the pool and then went to dinner with friends staying at the same hotel. After dinner we wandered around for a few hours. Friday we also wandered around shopping, flushing $$$ down the toilets in the casinos and went to the pool. We then went to a little Mexican Food place that was off the beaten path. Very good food. At 9:30 pm we had tickets to see Cirque Du Soliel "Ka". This was at the MGM Grand and it was beautiful. I really loved it. It was more story driven than "circus-y" like the other Cirque's I have seen. Chris' tummy wasn't feeling great so after a little more gambling we went to bed. Unfortunately, Chris woke up about 5 am very ill. We tried to have a little fun but he really wasn't doing well and fading fast. After heading to the Wynn Hotel (which is breathtaking) and walking around a bit he was zapped. I have never seen him that ill before. So....he went to sleep in the backseat and I drove home. We weren't home 15 minutes when he was in bed and asleep. By then, he was running a fever. Of course David decided Chris had Swine Flu and that we should roll him out of bed and lock him out of the house to protect ourselves! Luckily, in the morning Chris felt better because it was Hannah's 14th birthday. After a large breakfast she opened gifts and then we went to the beach. Went to CPK for dinner (tho Chris wasn't up to eating) and had birthday cake when we got home. Needless to say it's been a busy few days, and with the exception of poor Chris, we had a blast. Now...back to work! Ann, if you're reading this: I'm starting on your order right now!
